Before any instruction: Note there are open spaces among the patterns, and no shading, but I did try to get a "balance" between darker and lighter areas.I do a directed draw, three daffodil picture that is filled in using chalk pastels with my fourth graders every spring. They are 12" X 18" and brighten the classroom until May, then go home as Mother's Day Presents. I thought about one flower, with patterns, and viola!
