Wasn't Feeling It ...

This week's Diva Challenge #224 is a monotangle of Tipple.  I just couldn't wrap my head around it - Tipple is typically used as a "filler" around/through/behind other patterns...  I've used it around Flux, in between Hollibaugh, down the edges of Meer, even to represent bubbles ... but alone, just little circles ... I thought and thought and visited the challenge page several times looking at about 65 other entries for inspiration ... Then it came to me!  I can still use it as a "filler", and they don't have to be the same size, and I can practice my shading to try to create depth ...

I've been using letters lately - on the canvas I did (on the Beyond Tiles and Paper Gallery  page), and on a WIP wedding gift ... I also like making "stone walls" in organic garden themed pieces - so put the two together ... I saw on Pinterest, a lower case letter inscribed on top of the same, capital letter and thought it looked cool (although it was "flat" and not a tangled piece).
My Tipple - T & t ...

It's A String Thing Challenge #99 (last 2-digit challenge!) Is focusing on patterns that begin with T (must be a T week...)  The patterns to use: Tearce (left side), Tracery (string in right corner), and Tripoli (the T shape in the middle).  I also used a bit of Tipple to fill in Tracery and Tripo (right corner and across top).  I like how it came out ...

    1. Thank you - someone else commented on their blog that it is often the tiles that when they start out you are unsure, that end up being a favorite (or something like that) - I think I agree - the more I look at it, the more I'm liking this one now ...

  3. I feel your pain with Tipple. It's been there done that. But you made a beautiful tile, very precise and drawn well. Great job I'd say! Sarah.
